To capture this beautiful day for Cordelia and Matthew in Kelowna, B.C. was truly an honor. Surrounded by some of their close family and friends they vowed to love each other and entered into a covenant relationship. The day was full of joy, laughter and even a few tears. Jed and I are so proud to have seen Matthew grow into a man of character who loves and laughs through any struggles life throws his way. We won’t go into the long story but when Jed and I were youth leaders at a local church when we were newly weds ourselves over 11 years ago Matthew needed a place to live while he finished his senior year and we opened our home to him. He ended up having a daughter Skylar with a mitochondrial disease and she passed away at 4 years of age. She brought so much joy in the time she was here and watching the love and care she was given was truly heart warming. She was an honorary bridesmaid and that left no dry eyes in the room. Matthew and Cordelia met online about five years ago. Matthew was impressed and fell in love with every detail of Cordelia from her strong faith to love of Blink 182. They dated long distance for a while and eventually Matthew realized he couldn’t live without her and had to make her his wife. Cordelia gladly accepted his proposal Easter of 2024 when Matthew surprised her by showing up at the coast in B.C. where she was. Fast forward to their wedding day and oh my goodness the joy was evident and it was such a blast to capture! There were so many special details including Cordelia’s garter that was made from her grandmother’s wedding dress lace and her hands are holding it. Cordelia’s grandfather made the cross that was behind them during the ceremony and her aunt and uncle performed a special song ‘Anything You Can Do (I Can Do Better) ‘ during the reception that was comic gold. And surprise surprise Jed was Matthew’s best man.
